विश्वयुद्धमा परिचालित भएको थियो । पहिलो विश्वयुद्ध (१९१४-१९१९) पछि नेपालबाट ६०
हजार भन्दा बढि गोर्खा फैाजमा (ब्रिटिश गोर्खा) भर्ना गरिएका/भएका थिए ।
